Today, I’m sharing some autumn fashion ideas on a midsize body! One thing I truly love about Michigan is that we get a taste of each season, fall being the most delicious in my opinion. The leaves are becoming increasingly vibrant and there’s so many traditions and activities to do this time of year: cider mills, haunted houses, bonfires, Halloween parties… You can see why it’s my favorite!
I styled three different midsize fall outfits that I would wear to go spend a lovely autumn day at an apple orchard. I hope it gives you some fall fashion inspiration, and if so, be sure to stay tuned for more and check out my Instagram and TikTok for more midsize outfit inspiration.
Neutral Color-Blocking & Straight-Leg Jeans
I love wearing a cropped cardigan with high-rise jeans to flatter my short torso and accentuate my curves. These are my favorite jeans! They’re a rigid, non-stretchy material, but they fit my curves so well without suffocating me. These chunky-soled Chelsea booties are my ride or die! I got them last year at Target, but they have similar styles available this year!

Chunky Sweater & Knit Socks with Boots
This is one of my favorite sweaters! It’s a chunky fisherman knit I got from Target at least four years ago now, so they don’t have this exact style, but I linked a similar one below. I paired it with some black leggings and some light taupe rubber Chelsea boots – also from Target! The chunky knit socks help to make the look extra cozy. I added an olive waffle-knit headband from Aerie for a small pop of color and some extra texture.

Flannel + Shacket & Rain Boots
No fall midsize outfit is complete without a flannel or shacket, so why not both? Especially here in the Midwest, you never know how cold or windy a fall day might be. Layering is essential! I went for a colorful, jewel-toned look with a navy waffle shacket from Amazon, a flannel from Old Navy, some basic black leggings and my beloved succulent green Hunter boots. They don’t get as much wear as they deserve, since they’re both too tall and too small for my calves, but I would suffer for a cute apple picking outing in these bad boys.

Which outfit is your favorite? I personally love the first one; I haven’t experimented much with pairing boots with straight-leg jeans, and I think I dig it! The second outfit incorporates one of my all-time favorite sweaters, and I really vibe with the colors of the last one. You can find me on Instagram and TikTok for more midsize style inspiration and lifestyle content! I hope this guide showed you some different silhouettes to try for fall, and remember to love that body of yours, regardless of its size.
